Wrote... Looking for my relatives! My mother was born in Hays, Kansas, the only daughter of Alfred (who was a twin) and Hallie Smith Havemann. I think Alfred's twin brother's name was Henry or Gus. Alfred was the son of Gustav and Doris Wedermeir(sp?) Havemann who immigrated from Germany in the mid to late 1800s. Wrote... Hello: I'm researching a Victorian actress (1866 - 1898) named Charlotte Behrens Hume Mantell. Charlotte was born in, Brooklyn, New York, but her family brought her body back to Philadelphia (where they were apparently living) & buried her either there, or possibly NYC. It's possible that they had a business of some kind in NYC. She died in Port Huron, MI while in a traveling acting company. Charlotte would've likely remained obscure & forever unknown if she hadn't married a well-known (in his time) stage & Shakes Robert Mantell. There was considerable scandal surrounding their union, & Charlotte died young. The entire story is very intriguing & deserves its day. I'm a professional writer & hope to put that story together in book form. I've yet to find any Behrens directly related to Charlotte. Her parents were "C" & "Dina (maybe Dora) Hurst" Behrens. She also sent me the emails with the correspondence between you and Allen Stitt. I think it's fascinating! My mother showed me the house on 23 Chestnut street in Kearny (where our mothers grew up) right after Grandma's funeral in 1993. I'm not into genealogy much, but this week found that I am descended from a man who came to Boston from England around 1627 with his descendants being in the Morristown NJ area since the 1750's and in the Butler/West Milford area since at least 1834. As for your business, every time I see and hear a reference to HSH in the national news media it gives me a sense of pride that you are located in Butler NJ and before that in Riverdale NJ.
