We are looking for info on the ancestors of the Havemanns who settled in Fayette County, Texas.
We believe they were from the Province of Oldenburg in Germany -- possibly from around the town of Oldenburg or perhaps from around Varel up near the North Sea. We don't even know who the original immigrant was, but we believe it was Frederick (Fritz) Havemann (1848-1932) and is buried in a small country cemetery in Fayette County, Texas. Our records show he was married to a Fredericke Helms (1855-1932) who was also from Germany, but we don't know her origins there either.
They settled around the small towns of Oldenburg and Walhalla in Fayette County, Texas.
We have done all the research we know how to do on the local scene to try to find out where they were from. There seem to be no immigration records or church records that have this information. Please let us know if you run across any clues of their Germanic origins.

Seeking help in locating additional info for our Wetzel line. I started researching my husband's line last year for him and am continually running into dead-ends. I would like to get back at least to the original whereabouts in Germany. This is what I have:
